Date Night by Milwaukee Limo, Holiday-Style

It’s the holiday season in Milwaukee, which means there are holiday events aplenty to choose from. Get into the spirit with your favorite person in the world by hiring a limo for a special holiday-themed date night. It’s a great way to experience some seasonal cheer without dealing with the stress of Christmas shopping and planning your trip back home. Don’t know what events to choose? Here are four great Christmas-themed events going on in the city, with one additional Halloween-themed event for kicks and giggles:

1.) Free On-site Engraving at George Watts & Sons, Inc.

For one day only, shoppers who purchase any crystal or glass merchandise can have it engraved for free at this cozy gift shop. The two of you can purchase something special either for your parents or each other. If you decide to do the latter, select a special something for your sweetheart and have it engraved with their name or nickname, since it’s unlikely that the engraver can carve long phrases like “Remember that time that we went to that awesome free engraving event?” December 8th. 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. 761 N. Jefferson Street Milwaukee, WI 53202

2.) Holiday Tea at Watts’ Tea Shop

If you can’t make it to the engraving event, the Watts’ affiliated tea shop is also hosting a special tea party. There’s nothing like sitting down to a hot cup of tea with a great conversation partner, so why not stop in to enjoy some special seasonal tea and soak in the wintry scene of Milwaukee’s Easttown Neighborhood? And no tea event would be complete without the requisite snacks for accompaniment, so there will also be finger sandwiches and seasonal snacks on hand. Reservations are required for this December 19th event. 2:30 p.m. 761 North Jefferson St. Milwaukee, WI 53202

3.) Ugly Sweater Holiday Party

Isn’t it funny how the holiday sweater has transformed from a dreaded Christmas gift to a fun-filled cultural meme? To celebrate the general awfulness of this tradition, Broadway Theater Center will be holding a party inviting guests to don their worst. There will be drinks, delicious food, an ugly sweater contest, and tacky picture taking. Use the code UGLY10 when you purchase tickets at the box office, over the phone, or online to receive a $10.00 discount on admission. December 8th. 4:30 p.m. 158 N. Broadway 53202

4.) Shakers Ghost Tours

Everybody has a holiday they like more than others. Some prefer Christmas, others Thanksgiving, others Halloween. If you fall into the third category, you love a good thrill, and you can’t wait for Halloween to come around again, include the ghost tour of the building where Shakers Cigar Bar resides into your “holiday” date. Built in 1894, the building has been the murder site of characters ranging from sailors to call girls to corrupt politicians, and it’s also been used as a brothel and a speakeasy, giving it a rich, colorful and fascinating history.  The tour is held Wednesday through Saturday at 7:00 p.m. 422 S. 2nd Street Milwaukee, WI 53204

5.) Second City’s Dysfunctional Holiday Revue

Fans of Whose Line Is It Anyway will get a kick out of this holiday show from famous improv troupe Second City. The show promises to be a refreshing take on the holidays, featuring scenarios such as “uneven gift exchanges with your clueless boyfriend” and “couples therapy with Joseph and Mary.”  Couples therapy with Biblical characters? We’re already sold. With some songs, improv, and a little bit of absurdity, this show will have you and your date crying from laughter. You’ll be laughing; you’ll be crying—what better way to relieve some holiday-induced tension? December 6th – 16th. Times vary. 929 N.
